Praise the Lord with the harp;
Make melody to Him with an instrument of ten strings.
Sing to Him a new song;
Play skillfully with a shout of joy.
This lyre was made from a massive spalted maple tree I found on the side of the road in a storm last year. I hauled it and barely got it into my tiny car. I then milled it myself with the help of some friends who own a chainsaw mill. The wood has been drying out for over a year now and I was very excited to be able to make something in which I had a hand in every step on the process. Thank you God!
The Lyre was made for my dad who has always wanted to be able to sing the psalms like King David. Unfortunately it looks a lot better than it sounds... :) but thankfully, I hear there is some sort of sound tunnel between heaven and earth which transforms any praise to sound beautiful... like heavenly autotune or something... maybe? Or just sing a lot louder than you play dad!
